Coregroups
Core Groups for Men — Core Groups for Women
Core Groups are gender specific groups of 4-10 designed to provide all members of The Foundry with an opportunity to build deep and abiding relationships.
I. The Purpose of Core Groups
A. Affection/Affinity- A community time of true Christian fellowship, caring for one another with the many considerations of life. The aim of the relationships formed in this group is to dive beneath the surface and share our hopes, desires, motivations, and fears.
B. Application- A deliberate time of soul work, challenging one another towards godliness. This time is to go beyond intellectual queries and apply biblical truths to heart problems.
C. Accountability- A transparent time of vulnerable communication, seeking one another for counsel and aid in areas of failure. The group is intended to be a place where weaknesses of the heart can be strengthened and encouragement can be found to fight idols of our hearts.
II. The Invitation of Core Groups
The Foundry purposes to challenge young adults in their 20’s to worship God with their lives and to serve others with the same fervor. With this intention in mind, a variety of opportunities are available to be involved in this ministry which include Sunday morning worship service and regional foundry studies.
In light of the purposes of affection, application, and accountability in Foundry core groups, it is advantageous for Core group leaders to invite and challenge Bible study attendees to these groups. This will allow the Core group leader to more effectively shepherd and guide their groups within the guidelines of this time. In addition, this will provide attendees an opportunity to understand the purpose of core groups before becoming involved at this level of ministry.
