August 1st - We have a treat

This coming Friday we have the honor in hosting Dr. Greg Harris. He is a professor at The Master’s Seminary and he indeed has been blessed by 1 Peter in his own life.

He is going to be preaching from 1 Peter 1:22-2:3. He is also making available to us the book he wrote on suffering from his own personal life, “The Cup and the Glory, Lessons on Suffering and the Glory of God“. This book will be available for a very reduced cost, retail $13.50, but for us it will be $5 as well as the workbook that goes along with it for $5.

Here is what John MacArthur says about the book, “Dr. Greg Harris, a modern-day Job belonging to the society of mourners and sufferers, authentically expresses the bright hope of God’s eternal glory that places even the darkest cup of earthly pain in perspective. He tenderly details from Scripture and his own pilgrimage on pain’s pathway how God graciously and lovingly employs suffering to draw true believers in Christ nearer to Him. Whether you now suffer or comfort those who do, this is a must read.”

So please come ready to be comforted by the Word of God through the mouth of Dr. Harris.

As well, we will be hearing the testimony of another saint, to see the transforming work of Christ in the lives of those who He has saved.

See you on Friday.

One Response to “August 1st - We have a treat”

I was amazingly blessed by what Dr. Greg Harris spoke to us tonight. I think that I have a new quote now, “As I get older, I pray for my focus opposed to my situation.”

The richness of God’s word through His servant was mightly received, and I know that all of you who were there was blessed as well, and for those who weren’t, the audio is going to be up in a few hours.

So you can listen to it for the first time or you can listen to it over and over and over again.

Continue to obey Christ, for this you were chosen for.
