Welcome

Epoch is one of the regional Bible studies of The Foundry, Grace Community Church’s ministry to singles in their 20’s. We meet every Friday night at 7:30PM in the Basement of the J/K building across from the gymnasium at Grace Community Church. We start at 7:30pm, but you can come early to join us for a time of prayer at 6:45. We purpose to challenge young adults in their twenties to worship God with their whole life and to serve others with the same fervor.

June 28, 2009 - The Lyon’s Farewell

Dear Epoch,

We are in a sorrow but rejoicing time. Justin and Jenny have been faithful to serve us for nearly 5 years now, and the Lord has used them and trained them well. But there time here with us has come to its close. They are going back to their home church in Walnut Creek, CA, where they will spend the next year preparing to go into the mission field.

Justin has served on Mentor Staff his time hear and has shepherded Epoch as a whole. Jenny has invested much time into the women and has lead a core group faithfully for years. They both have left an impression and an example.

Well, this Friday we are celebrating with them on their new adventure the Lord is sending them on. We are going to be having a night of honoring them so I hope that you all will join us.

We will even have a special guest MC, Mike Elliot himself.

June 19, 2009 - Tim Ross Preaching

Beloved Epoch,

This Friday we will be things a bit different. We are going to be having a “Ministry Fair” to expose all of our ministries that Epoch is involve in. This will give you an idea of the needs that we have and how you can be of service.

As well, we will be getting feed the Word from our dearly beloved Tim Ross, who is continuing through our “Themes of the Proverbs”. His theme this week is going to be God’s Soveriengty and Man’s Desires. I look forward to seeing you all there and hope to hear good things of how the Lord has worked in your hearts this past week to bring about a greater love for Him.

See you Friday

June 12, 2009 - Bo Nelson Preaching

Beloved of Epoch,

What a great weekend we had. Friday with the Foundry-ites, Saturday at the Softball tournament, and Sunday with our large family of Grace Church. It was definately a great weekend of fellowship and great teaching. Where else does this happen? I don’t know.

This Friday we will be back in the basement at 7:30PM and Bo will be continuing our “Themes of the Proverbs” series with the theme of “Serving (God’s Delight)”. Please prepare your hearts to receive what God will have for you through our time at looking at specific passages in the Proverbs that will show us the wisdom in serving. And please be in prayer for Bo that he would effectively convey the deep rich truths of God’s word.

We are looking forward to the sweet fellowship that just comes so easy with you. Continue to stir each other on to love and good deed (Heb 10:24). See you on Friday.

June 5, 2009 - Foundations (No Epoch)

Dearly beloved of Epoch, I hope that your faith is being renewed day by day, ever more as the Day of our Lord draws nearer. I was meditating on the rich truth that we will see Him face to face, and what a sweet day that will be. But for now, we get to see Him through His saints of the Foundry this Friday in the basement as we continue through the series of “Pillars of Grace.”

Looking forward to our time together.

May 29, 2009 - Hohn Cho Preaching

Epoch, what an awesome weekend we had at the retreat. I hope that all of you had an impactful weekend that has and will continue to radically change your lives. I know that I was impacted and I have a lot of soul searching and work to do to continue to be changed into the image of my beloved Savior. I pray that you desire the same, to be as He is because of who He is.

This Friday we will be continuing our “Themes of the Proverbs” series and our dear Shepherd, Hohn Cho, will be teaching us on “Friendship and Confrontation.” How excited I am to know that we can continue to challange each other to grow, and this Friday is just another opportunity for us, as a group, to do so.

Please press on in your personal relationships to build each other up by speaking truth to one another.

May 15, 2009 - STM Presentations and Potluck

Dear Saints of Epoch,

This Friday we have an awesome priviledge to share a meal together and enjoy some rich fellowship with one another. This is a great time to practice serving each other in ways that would be out of the norm.

Also, we are going to be hearing from Becky, Sasi and Andrea, Perla, and Steve about their STM trip this summer. What an exciting time, especially for those who have gone on an STM in the past. I know for me, I get excited over anything involving missions, something that is at the very heart of our great God.

I hope to see everyone rejoicing in our Savior and ready and willing to express their love for Him by their service to one another.

May 8, 2009 - Justin Lyon Preaching

The last time we met we got to hear how the Lord brought our dearly beloved Justin out of his sin and into the Kingdom of God’s beloved Son, and this week we get to hear what wisdom the Lord has taught Justin through the book of Proverbs on FAMILY. As we continue through the “Themes of the Proverbs,” please be in prayer as Justin finishes his preparation on the topic of Family.
